MAGIC JOHNSON / HP INVENTOR CENTER

September 2004, the former NBA star, businessman and community visionary,
Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and other athletes and business leaders gathered on
Broadway to open the nation’s seventeenth Magic Johnson / HP inventor
Center. The Inventor Center provides computers, classes and Internet access
to neighborhood families through its 24-terminal computer center, all at no
cost. While computer access and computer skills are the heart of the
mission, the center will also utilize computers and Internet access for a
range of family and neighborhood events and services, enhancing the Inventor
Center’s value to the community. |

The Inventor Center offers:
- A 24-terminal computer
center, with state-of-the-art equipment and high-speed internet access
- Public
Internet access and computer classes for students, seniors and working
adults needing current
computer skills
- Assistance for
neighborhood businesses and entrepreneurs
